As Klamath Living magazine's publisher, my deep roots in this region fuel my commitment to its growth. Born in California and raised here as a fourth-generation resident, I've seen our community's ups and downs. Despite challenges, our resilience and unity have always moved us forward.

A Legacy of Perseverance and Compassion Growing up in poverty in 1980s Klamath Falls, I personally witnessed the importance of community support. When I was 5 years old, I suffered an accident that left me injured and struggling with ADHD and dyslexia. As a result, by age 10, I ended up in state care, but local organizations like the ones we now advocate for became my lifeline.

The Transformative Power of Giving Back Grateful for my opportunities, I now use Klamath Living to advocate for local businesses and support youth organizations that are working hard to make a difference in our community. Since October 2022, we've given away more than $100,000 in magazine space to highlight groups like Friends of the Children, CASA, the YMCA, and many more.

Aligning Visions: A Collaborative Endeavor We believe in building a stronger Klamath Basin where families thrive, businesses flourish, and youth access quality education and training. Together, we can create a community with a better quality of life and sense of self-worth.

The "Manifesting the Future of Klamath Falls" initiative aligns with my vision for a better Klamath Basin. It supports growth, creates opportunities, and helps local businesses succeed. By supporting our youth, we build a strong workforce, economy, and caring community.

As we celebrate our 2nd year in print, I'm proud of our progress but know there's more to do. Working together is key to creating the future we want for Klamath Falls. Supporting local businesses and community organizations is vital to our mission.

Fostering Connections and Amplifying Impact As we enter our 3rd year of service to our community, I suggest two ways to work with local businesses and non-profits:

Content Series: Monthly features showing businesses and non-profits working together. This shows the "abundance mindset" that will help our community grow.

Joint Events: Quarterly meetings for business leaders, non-profits, and community members to share ideas and solve problems.

Our multi-touch program can help promote these efforts. We can also use our sister publications in nearby cities to attract more businesses and support to Klamath Falls.

A Holistic Approach to Community Betterment We see a future where economic growth and philanthropy work together. This starts with better-trained employees, teamwork, and attracting new businesses.

I believe Klamath Falls' success depends on business, government, education, real estate, and philanthropy working together. By thinking abundantly and helping those in need, we can create a thriving community for everyone.

Introductory Meetings: Meet potential partners to introduce the concept and get input.

Community Leadership Summit: Gather community leaders to create a mission statement, business plan, and resource allocation. Planned for November 22, 2024. Location TBA.

Sponsor Outreach: Find sponsors for a Community Leadership Summit on Non-Profit Leadership, planned for late November.

By encouraging open communication and teamwork, we can use our community's wisdom to create the future we want for Klamath Falls.

The Power of Working Together As I look back, I feel hopeful. Our sponsors have helped us publish this magazine monthly and allowed me to volunteer at the YMCA, support youth sports, and join community activities.

This is just the start. Together, we can make a better Klamath Basin – a place for families to grow, businesses to succeed, and youth to reach their potential.

Join me in this effort to make the Klamath Basin a symbol of hope and progress.
